BIG is coming!
Did you know that BIG 2008 is less than weeks away! And what a year it is! Beijing for all you seasoned athletes and Paralympic athletes and Bydgoszoz for those still rising through the ranks.
As usual we are hard at work planning what is definitely shaping up to be the best one ever. The stadium has been booked and all the officials are sorted and here we are with the first report on our new website.
Already I have had 10 enquiries about entries and the online entry does not open until tomorrow! Our first official entry this year is from Paul Brizzle (IRE) and we are sure his entry will be followed by many more very high profile athletes across all the events.
A group of Swedish athletes will be joining us to enhance the competition for all the GB athletes out there who will be using BIG as one of their warm up meets for Beijing. Some events have to be limited in numbers in order that we can get all events into the programme - instructions for entry for these are clearly given on the standards page. Some events are specific to under 20 men and women (i.e. 110m Hurdles @ 3'3", 100m Hurdles, and 100m for men and women). However we welcome under 20 athletes in all events.
Again this year we will host three Pan Disability races which are one of a series of qualifying events identified for selection for the Paralympic team. Please talk to Kathryn Periac if you feel you deserve a place as these events are by invitation only.
REMEMBER, only days (and counting) to get your entry in - last year we had to turn down a number over 100 entries as events were full - don't let that be you! Press the online entry button to enter NOW - all payment is secure.
